Strategies to protect local technology, a cornerstone of a modern, balanced economy. Policy strategies to enhance local procurement, nurture homegrown innovation, and maximise Australian technological capabilities in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.

David Forman Director - Federal Government Relations of TechnologyOne TechnologyOne is an ASX100 homegrown software business operating through the ANZ and Pacific region and the UK, where David is responsible for engagement with policy makers and guiding the business’s research program. Prior to joining TechnologyOne, David worked with numerous leading Australian ICT businesses in telecommunications, IT and cyber security. He has a passion for policy and how it relates to changing technology and has been involved in policy and regulatory discussions involving most of the major technological advances in IT and Communications in the past 25 years, from Cloud First to the NBN and competition law related to the communications sector, and contributed to policy thinking in areas from productivity to taxation.
Melanie Kelly Director of Insight Economics Melanie Kelly has extensive experience in public policy and economics consulting. Her career began at a boutique consultancy (the Allen Consulting Group) before launching a start-up firm, Insight Economics, as a Company Director with four co-investors. The venture was successful, and in 2007, the company was acquired by Deloitte Australia. Over her career, Melanie has specialised in the life sciences, defence and resources sectors, with deep competencies in industry and innovation policy, economic and labour market cost benefit evaluations, computable general equilibrium modelling, and business case development. As a founding member of the economics practice within Deloitte, Melanie helped to grow the economics practice to more than 150 staff over more than 10 years of service.

Damian Kassabgi CEO of Tech Council Damian joins the TCA having previously held senior leadership roles at Afterpay, Uber and Google. He also brings extensive experience from the public sector, having held leadership roles in the offices of two Prime Ministers: Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard.
