Event Details

With the national Strategic Examination of Research and Development showing the major opportunity for capitalising on Australia's high quality research base, we need to take up the challenge of how to apply the best ideas for economic impact. We invite you to join a focused roundtable discussion to explore best practices and identify opportunities in further collaboration between university and industry. We know that there are cultural barriers and practical impediments to better linkages between researchers and commercial applications: this discussion will focus on pragmatic steps to accelerate growth.

Topics include:

  • Celebrating successful R&D collaborations highlighting what has worked, and what we can learn from the process
  • Addressing the cultural and language gaps between universities and the tech sector to build greater mutual recognition of value
  • Increasing industry investment in university research highlighting models used by Main Sequence Ventures
  • Practical considerations such as R&D tax incentives, licensing, IP sharing and risk mitigation
